I am not sure you can see more happiness in somebody’s faces as you will see in the tender smiles of this sweet family. Their newborn baby boy has arrived and he just has the most amazing little swirl on his hair and when the light hits it, it almost looks like a golden Christmas tree decoration. I love to look at these first two images when mommy is holding him tight against her chest and I imagine that not too long ago, he was just curled up, tucked into a little ball, cozy and warm inside her. He was not too little and his round little toes put on a fight as I wrapped him up… he must have been a quicker.
You know, with little newborns, I do not really like to pose them in any particular way. If you were with me during all my newborn sessions you will notice that I kind of like to hold the baby’s hands and see where they want to place them. Some babies, like this handsome boy, prefer to stretch their arms over their heads (see images below). Others will refuse to extend their limbs in any direction and instead curl like a roly poly. I do like to see their little fingers so I try to stretch the hands but these little nuggets know very well what they want and I just let them be themselves. Sometimes I even tell the parents how they seem to like to do certain things with their arms and legs and mom may say: “yes, he loves that” or “she does it all the time” and I beam because it means I capture them just the way they are, with all the little movements and things they prefer doing. It is also so sweet to see that parents are also learning a lot of things about their little one every day that goes by. How they like to sleep, how to rock them when they cry a certain way and how to walk them around when the cry is different. How they liked to be burped and if there are songs they prefer. Everything is brand new not just for the baby but also for those new parents. Sometime exhausting yes… well, almost all the time. But oh so magical and so incredibly amazing!
What a handsome little guy! These are gorgeous! That swirl is adorable. :o)
You can feel their joy! Love these.
