Newborn and Baby Session Details
The ideal time to hold a baby session is usually when the baby is between 10-15 days old. Newborn sessions can last anywhere from 1-3 hours and they include images of your baby as well as mom, dad and siblings (please inquire if you have extended family such as grandparents interested in joining).
Even though I understand sometimes it is difficult to control your little one’s feeding times, it is my suggestion to bring your baby to my studio with an empty belly. In addition, it is extremely helpful if the morning of your session the baby is kept more awake and stimulated so he/she is tired and ready to fall asleep when they come to my studio. A gentle bath is a fabulous idea before coming. I will then offer you a quiet space where you can cuddle and feed your newborn. This typically gets the baby tired and sleepy as well as full and content, which is exactly what we desire when starting a session. You will not be rushed. There is also the possibility that you may have to feed your baby again during the session. This is perfectly normal and you will have plenty of time and space to do this.
Especially with newborn sessions, it is important to choose the right wardrobe for mom and dad with light natural textures, white, pale pinks/rose, grays and cream tones. Dads can come in a fitted gray or white casual T-shirt (nothing formal, please) and pants or nice jeans. I provide the blankets and wraps your newborn will need for the whole session.
