Mom, I find the image of your sweet little baby girl sucking her thumb to be the sweetest of all.

I just have a weakness for all those images that show something wonderful and tender about a child’s habits: the way they frown or curl their lips, the serious faces when they hear a strange noise, the uncontrollable movement of their arms, the sucking of a thumb.

A wonderful miracle… that’s what they are…
